Konami plans to continue expanding its revived Silent Hill series over the coming years, with producer Motoi Okamoto confirming that additional “second and third waves” of new games are being developed alongside a number of undisclosed projects.
The comments came in an interview featured by PC Gamer. Okamoto said Konami is “relieved” by the critical and commercial reception to three recent Silent Hill releases, all of which arrived to positive reviews and healthy sales after roughly a decade away from new entries.
“All three titles we initially announced were able to be released successfully,” Okamoto said. “They’ve also received high praise, and we are satisfied with it.”

The producer noted that the games launched so far represent only the “first wave” of Konami’s plans for the series.
“Successfully launching this ‘first wave’ comes with great relief, but we’re not stopping here; we must think of the second and third waves,” Okamoto stated. “We can’t share specific details, but we’re currently looking at a number of projects.”

Okamoto revealed that convincing Konami executives to pursue new entries was challenging, particularly following the 2015 cancellation of Hideo Kojima’s Silent Hills. He said he was convinced “just one remake is not enough,” reasoning that a single release might lead people to believe development would be cancelled again.
Beyond what Konami has kept under wraps, some upcoming projects are already known. After its acclaimed remake of Silent Hill 2, Bloober Team is set to work on a remake of the original game — an undertaking considered more challenging given the simpler narrative compared to its sequel.
It remains unconfirmed whether NeoBards Entertainment and Screen Burn Interactive will return to the series after their respective entries. According to PC Gamer’s Silent Hill expert Elie Gould, both developers have what it takes, describing one as a “true return to form” and crediting Screen Burn with understanding “what makes a great Silent Hill game.”
