Feel Free Games, the studio behind the cozy farming life-sim Luma Island, announced that its island-hopping adventure is coming to PlayStation 5. The title originally launched on PC in November 2024 and has since welcomed more than 800,000 players, and the developer says it is now preparing to welcome a new wave of gamers onto the island for consoles.
The announcement marks another milestone for a game that was built around bringing different kinds of players together. According to Feel Free Games, Luma Island features adjustable difficulty modes and plenty of ways to play, allowing both experienced gamers and newcomers to explore at their own pace. The studio confirmed that the console version will also support cross-platform play across PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
A Farm, a Caravan, and Endless Possibilities
In Luma Island, players begin with an old caravan and a rundown farm, then shape their own experience from there. The studio describes the gameplay as largely player-driven: you can build and decorate your farm, grow crops, raise animals, choose from eight professions, meet townsfolk, and hatch Lumas—magical companions that join you on your journey.
But the island offers much beyond its fields. Explorable environments include forests, mountains and thick jungles, along with caves full of resources, ancient temples packed with puzzles and traps, hidden treasure and plenty of secrets waiting to be uncovered. Players can also make their way to Pirate Cove, which features its own areas to explore as well as pirate-themed minigames and challenges.
Luma Island is designed to bring different kinds of players together, whether you’re an experienced gamer or new to games. Different difficulty modes and plenty of ways to play mean everyone can explore the island at their own pace.

Flexibility Is at the Heart of the Experience
Gameplay variety is a defining feature of Luma Island. Players might spend an evening working on their farm or fishing, then head out the next day to explore the island or venture into its many mysterious temples. Exploring one part of the island can lead players toward their next adventure.
The studio also emphasizes that players get to decide how relaxed or challenging they want their adventure to be. Luma Island features three difficulty modes: Cozy, Adventure and Hero. In Cozy Mode there is no combat unless you choose it, while Adventure and Hero add more challenge. There are no stamina bars or inventory limits either, so players are free to spend their time on whatever feels right.
The game can be enjoyed solo or played together with up to four players online. Friends can build together, share resources, explore the island, or head out looking for their next challenge—and thanks to cross-platform support, those friends do not need to own the same console.
Looking Ahead
Feel Free Games said it is excited to finally bring Luma Island to PS5 and hopes PlayStation players will feel right at home on the island. The studio confirmed that the game is coming to PS5, and players can wishlist it on the PlayStation Store starting today.
