Microsoft wrapped up its Xbox broadcast at Tokyo Game Show 2026, delivering a packed lineup of new trailers, release dates, and development updates that ranged from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 to a surprise appearance by Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima. The hour-long presentation showcased titles across multiple genres and platforms, with several games confirming Xbox Series X and S, PC, and Xbox Game Pass availability as the broadcast closed out one of the most anticipated stops on the gaming calendar this year.

The show opened with a look at survival action RPG Gachiakuta: Breakout, based on the hit anime, before building toward its emotional climax. But it was Kojima Productions’ partnership with Microsoft that anchored the presentation’s finale, as the developer revealed fresh details on two upcoming Xbox titles and confirmed major casting news for one of them.

Kojima Confirms OD and Physint as Xbox Games

Hideo Kojima appeared at the end of the broadcast to discuss the ongoing partnership between his studio and Microsoft, recounting a recent meeting with new Xbox boss Asha Sharma about the future of video games. He confirmed that OD—currently listed under its codename KNOCK for Xbox—is “proceeding on schedule,” promising more information later down the line.

Kojima also introduced Physint as a brand-new Xbox game, describing it as the “culmination of more than 40 years of my career” and noting that development is making “steady progress.” He revealed Bill Skarsgård as the actor playing the lead role, teasing additional casting announcements in the future. Neither OD nor Physint has yet received a release date.

When Microsoft acquired Nintendo's second-party darling Rare for $375 million, the possibilities were endless. One of the first games Xbox got from the British studio was Conker: Live and Reloaded, a remake of N64's Conker's Bad Fur Day that added online multiplayer. And while that competitive play was quite fun, thanks in part to the juxtaposition of over-the-top violence and adorable characters on screen, it was the technological level-up from the N64 original that was truly stunning. The action-platformer was now 'fur-shaded,' giving the manes of Conker and his buddies a unique 'next-gen' new look. Ironically, Live and Reloaded was actually more heavily censored than Bad Fur Day, but both campaign and multiplayer were nevertheless a great way to introduce Rare to its new Xbox player base.

This has been Hideo Kojima.

A Broad Lineup of New and Coming Titles

Beyond Kojima, the broadcast featured a wide array of announcements. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 received its campaign trailer, set in Korea among other locations, with Captain Price revealed as this year’s target and confirmation that Mads Mikkelsen joins the cast.

New trailers also arrived for Sega’s Crazy Taxi World Tour, which showcased a Japan setting slated for 2027; ArtPlay’s Bloodstained: The Scarlet Engagement, a gothic metroidvania set in 16th-century England with a release expected in 2027; and Atlus’ Persona 4 Revival, due next year and coming to Game Pass.

Dates Confirmed for Several Releases

Multiple titles walked away with concrete launch windows. Once Human’s Isles of Abyss expansion arrives October 22 on Xbox Series X and S with full cross-play, while Midgar Studios’ JRPG Edge of Memories is set for November 5, 2026. Lofty Sky’s narrative mystery Hope in the City lands November 10, 2026, and Team Ninja successor title Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember arrives March 4, 2027 with a demo available now.

98. Top Spin

Believe it or not, there was a time when EA didn't support Xbox Live. And so Microsoft started building its own sports games that would take advantage of its online service, and of those titles, Top Spin was by far the best. It was a tennis sim featuring a career mode full of real-life pros, but what made Top Spin memorable – in addition to its core gameplay being so pitch-perfect, of course – was its online play. You'd create your character, build them up, and take them online, pitting yourself against other players in ranked matches that, if you won, would move you further up the global rankings. It all worked perfectly (and even tied in XSN, if you remember that little experiment), and made Top Spin the best tennis game the Xbox has ever been served up.

Raji: Kaliyuga from Indian studio Nodding Heads Games drew praise for its gameplay-focused commentary, introducing dual protagonists Raji and Darsh before shifting to a third-person action-adventure format. It will launch on Xbox Series X and S and PC as an Xbox Play Anywhere title with Game Pass support.

Looking Ahead

The broadcast also highlighted several titles still finding their release windows, including Genigods Lab’s Chinese mythology-rooted RPG Genigods: Nezha (2028), Koei Tecmo’s Atelier Karia: The Night Kingdom & the Guide of Memories (February), Serenity Forge’s Faraday Blues (2027), and Studio Ghibli-inspired cozy adventure Bloomwalker. Co-op roguelite Shape of Dreams launched today on Xbox Series X and S as a day-one Game Pass title alongside its first anniversary update.

With OD and Physint still lacking dates, Microsoft has signaled that more will arrive in the coming months, leaving fans eager to see how far the Kojima partnership—and the broader Xbox lineup—will go before 2026 draws to a close.
