Marvel Unveils New Incursions Comics, Including Animated X-Men Crossover

Marvel Comics has unveiled a fresh wave of “Incursions” companion one-shots that expand on the multiverse-colliding concept popularized by the blockbuster film Avengers: Doomsday, with the line notably pairing the animated worlds of X-Men: The Animated Series and X-Men: Evolution in a rare crossover. The announcements arrived alongside Marvel’s full December 2026 solicitation list, giving fans a complete look at the plotlines, creative teams, and release dates for each title. In the comics’ premise, parallel versions of Earth begin to crash into one another, forcing heroes across the Marvel multiverse to make impossible choices about which worlds can survive.

Among the reveals is a crossover that brings together two of Marvel’s most beloved animated X-Men properties — the 1990s X-Men: The Animated Series and the later X-Men: Evolution — pitting younger versions of the mutants against their older counterparts in a battle that could only end in mutual destruction.

An Animated X-Men Crossover Takes Center Stage

The centerpiece of the announcement is X-Men ’92: Incursions #1, illustrated by Salva Espin. The comic pits the X-Men of the 1990s against the cast of X-Men: Evolution, raising the stakes by introducing a moral dilemma: saving their own world may require the destruction of another — one filled with younger versions of the mutants who still harbor hope for Professor Xavier’s dream. The title is scheduled to release on January 6, 2027.

That crossover is part of a broader slate of Incursions one-shots, each exploring a different facet of the colliding-worlds premise. X-Men: Incursions #1, drawn by Jim Towe, sees the mutant-ascendent House of M universe intersect with the Days of Future Past timeline, leaving the choice of which world survives to Kate Pryde. Meanwhile, Spider-Man: Incursions #1, by Ron Lim, stages a Spider-Verse clash between Gwen Stacy’s Ghost-Spider and Mayday Parker’s Spider-Girl when Earth-65 and Earth-982 collide. Fantastic Four: Incursions #1, illustrated by Paco Medina, pits a gamma-powered First Family against a cosmic-powered Bruce Banner as two Earths race toward oblivion. And Avengers: Incursions #1, by Fran Mariscal Mancilla, sets the founding Avengers against an Earth ruled by Thanos and the monstrous Cabal.
