Andrew Garfield Admits He Hasn’t Seen Tom Holland’s “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” Yet!

In a surprising admission, actor Andrew Garfield revealed that he hasn’t yet congratulated his former co-star, Tom Holland, on the phenomenal success of “Spider-Man: Brand New Day.” While the film has smashed box office records and become a global phenomenon, Garfield is holding off until he can actually see it.

The Waiting Game

When asked by Variety whether he had reached out to Holland following the movie’s staggering $2.3 billion worldwide gross, Garfield explained his reasoning: “I don’t want to be disingenuous. A movie making money and people going to see it is an incredible thing, but I will reach out to him once I’ve seen the movie, which I’m very excited to see.” He also confessed that he hasn’t had a chance to watch Holland’s other recent film, “The Odyssey,” yet.

Andrew Garfield discusses his reasons for not having seen Tom Holland’s latest films.

Holland’s Blockbuster Year

Meanwhile, Tom Holland is arguably enjoying the most successful year of his career. “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” has not only broken franchise records but also secured its place as the highest-grossing film of the year so far. This follows his critically acclaimed performance in Christopher Nolan’s “The Odyssey,” which itself has surpassed the $1.5 billion mark.

Garfield Returns to the Big Screen

Andrew Garfield is set to return to the big screen soon with “The Uprising,” a historical drama about the 1381 Peasant’s Revolt in England (which, amusingly, also features Tom Hollander). With just a week until its release, there’s been notable confusion over whether the movie is a Robin Hood origin tale or not, with marketing campaigns seemingly at odds between U.S. and U.K. distributors.

Avengers: Doomsday Speculation

During the same interview, Garfield was inevitably asked about a potential appearance alongside other Marvel actors in “Avengers: Doomsday.” Rumors have swirled that Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man might return, and the ending of “Doomsday” hinted at the possibility of another Spider-Man appearing in an intergalactic (or multiversal) setting.

“No, no, I’m not. I’m not. I’m not,” was Garfield’s coy response. “You’ll find out, I suppose, one way or the other.”
