IO Interactive’s licensed James Bond title, 007: First Light, has shattered expectations by moving 2.7 million copies in its inaugural week of launch.

The developer celebrated the achievement on social media, expressing heartfelt gratitude to players: “Your support means the world to us, and we can’t thank you enough for being part of this journey.”

Critical acclaim has mirrored commercial success. VGC’s Jordan Middler awarded the game a perfect 5/5, declaring, “007 First Light might just be the best James Bond game ever. The way IOI has translated the Bond fantasy into a 14‑hour globetrotting epic is masterful. It’s a game full of spectacle, humour, action, and romance. Everything James Bond should be.”

While the success and sales of their recent release have not automatically secured a sequel from IO Interactive, the studio’s partnership with Amazon Games is poised for continued collaboration. According to Amazon’s GM of gaming, future titles could potentially be published by the e-commerce giant.
