When 007 First Licht launches, PlayStation 5 Pro owners will automatically benefit from Sony Interactive Entertainment’s newest machine‑learning upscaler, PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR). This next‑generation technology reconstructs a crisper, more stable image from a lower internal resolution, and the early tests at IO Interactive already demonstrate its impact.
Across the game’s lush outdoor settings and intimate cinematic cutscenes, upgraded PSSR delivers a noticeable lift in visual clarity. The technology excels in scenes that have historically challenged traditional upscalers, showcasing its advanced reconstruction capabilities.
Shimmering and flickering artifacts are markedly diminished, resulting in a smoother, more cohesive visual flow—particularly in environments dense with fine geometry and high‑frequency detail.
Whether the camera sweeps through expansive vistas or the player darts between cover, upgraded PSSR maintains image integrity far more convincingly. Moving objects retain sharpness, avoiding the breakup that often plagues lower‑resolution rendering.
