The Pokémon universe is expanding once again with a brand-new stop-motion animated series, “The Misadventures of Sirfetch’d and Pichu,” set to debut exclusively on Disney+ and DisneyXD. This announcement came during the inaugural PokémonXP fan convention, marking a significant moment for dedicated fans.

First teased back in July 2025, “The Misadventures of Sirfetch’d and Pichu” The Misadventures of Sirfetch’d and Pichu promises a delightful journey through the Galar region. We’ll be following the iconic duo as they navigate all sorts of comical situations, forging an unforgettable bond along the way.
Disney+ & DisneyXD Exclusive
While Pokémon fans eagerly anticipated this new series, the streaming platform reveal was a bit of a surprise. Unlike its predecessor, “Pokémon Concierge,” which streams exclusively on Netflix, “The Misadventures” will be available only on Disney+ and DisneyXD. This marks a significant shift in distribution for The Pokémon Company International’s animated content.
Aardman Animations Brings the Magic
This exciting collaboration brings together The Pokémon Company International and Aardman Animations, the legendary British studio renowned for beloved classics like Wallace and Gromit and Shaun the Sheep. This partnership guarantees a high level of quality and artistry in bringing these iconic characters to life.
During the PokémonXP panel, early animation tests showcasing Pichu and Sirfetch’d were unveiled, alongside an official trailer offering a sneak peek into the show’s vibrant world. The series is slated for release sometime in 2027, giving fans plenty of time to anticipate its arrival.
The Quest Begins: A Glimpse at the Story
The official logline perfectly encapsulates the spirit of “The Misadventures”: “Our heroes embark on a gallant quest to help and protect Pokémon across the region. Their missions rarely go as planned, but their noble deeds forge their friendship as they step bravely into the unknown. Peril, alliances, rivalries, extraordinary Pokémon, and endless laughs await them.”
Escavalier: The Knightly Nemesis
Adding a touch of conflict to this charming tale, Escavalier will serve as the primary antagonist. According to Aardman, he’s “a knight that could challenge and compete against” Sirfetch’d, promising some epic showdowns.

“What I love is the personalities we’re giving to all these characters,” shared James Young of Aardman Animations. “I’m really excited for the Pokémon family, and for all of you and to see how you like them, to see the personalities we’ve given to these Pokémon characters in our world.” This emphasis on character development suggests a deeper, more engaging narrative beyond simple adventures.
“Pokémon Concierge” Returns!
For fans eagerly awaiting more of “Pokémon Concierge,” good news! The series was confirmed for a second season back in 2025 and is set to air on Netflix this September.
