The already bizarre saga surrounding the leaks of Grand Theft Auto 6 has taken another wild turn. Following a recent leak from the notorious hacker group, Cyberleek, someone actually followed their instructions and showed up at Rockstar North’s office in Edinburgh, Scotland, apparently to “protest” the game’s digital-only release.
Cyberleek Doubles Down: Leaks Gameplay and Calls for Real-World Protests
On August 24th, Cyberleek dropped another bombshell, releasing gameplay footage purportedly from a later build of GTA 6. This new clip features Jason exploring what appears to be a nudist colony, complete with the usual array of naked characters. But this leak wasn’t just about the content; it was accompanied by a bizarre call to action. Cyberleek included a watermark text message urging fans to physically protest at Rockstar and Take-Two offices dressed as leeks, holding physical game discs.
“Plus, to show support at least 10 gamers need to show up dressed as leeks in front of Take2/Rock offices holding game discs during working hours,” the message demanded. And it seems at least one person took this request very seriously.
As spotted by Twitter user @reece_us, a young man visited Rockstar North’s office carrying a sizable bunch of leeks. He recorded a video of himself in front of the studio, stating: “Enough is enough, drop the beach leaks for all the incels!” The man then proceeded to take a large bite out of one of the leeks while standing directly in front of the building. Another user reportedly saw the same individual carrying the leeks and walking towards the front facade of Rockstar North before recording the message seen above.
Rockstar Games has remained conspicuously silent on both the leaks themselves and this latest development. Kotaku has reached out to Rockstar for comment on the incident and the ongoing Cyberleek leaks, but a response is pending.
A Growing Mess: Fake Leaks, AI Slop, and Legal Battles
This reported visit by a Cyberleek fan is just the latest in a string of increasingly strange events surrounding GTA 6. Other groups have claimed to possess unreleased versions of the game, some have attempted to pass off AI-generated images as real leaks, and others are circulating fabricated videos purporting to show Take-Two lawyers targeting Reddit users. It’s a chaotic situation.
Meanwhile, it’s confirmed that Take-Two and Rockstar’s legal teams are actively pursuing the source of the leaks through subpoenas and other legal means, as revealed in recently uncovered court documents reported by Kotaku. The hunt for Cyberleek is on, but the damage has already been done.
The release of GTA 6 remains shrouded in mystery, with a firm release date still unconfirmed. One thing is certain: this entire saga is far from over, and the gaming community will be watching closely to see how it unfolds.
