The Call of Duty: Next event has concluded, leaving fans buzzing with excitement after a deep dive into what’s coming for Modern Warfare 4. From intense multiplayer gameplay demonstrations to sneak peeks at new modes and Warzone integration, the showcase offered an unprecedented look at the future of the franchise. Now, it’s your turn to experience it firsthand! The Modern Warfare 4 Early Access Beta is live now on PlayStation 4, offering a wealth of content for players to explore across two distinct beta weekends.

Movement and Arsenal: Boots on the Ground Evolved

Modern Warfare 4 is bringing back that classic, grounded combat feel while injecting fresh movement mechanics. Expect to fluidly climb and descend pipes, hang from ledges for tactical repositioning, aim and fire while suspended, and seamlessly chain movements together for enhanced control and momentum. The Mobility Course offers a dedicated training facility with guided tutorials and timed courses to master these new systems. Experiment with 22 weapons across the Beta, including options available through Multiplayer progression, default loadouts, and Campaign. Customize your arsenal using Gunsmith and level up supported weapons to unlock powerful Apex Attachments, specialized modifications that enhance weapon performance without taking up standard attachment slots. Need some build advice? Gunny can recommend weapon builds based on the attachments you’ve already unlocked.

Maps, Modes, and Mayhem: A Battlefield Reimagined

Battle across six Core 6v6 maps, each offering unique and diverse environments. From snow-covered New York rooftops to a dense South Korean shopping district, and covert armories on the outskirts of French rail terminals to Mexican lithium refineries, there’s a battlefield for every playstyle. Classic 6v6 game modes like Team Deathmatch, Domination, Hardpoint, Kill Confirmed, and Search and Destroy are joined by innovative new ways to compete. In Inflation, every elimination awards cash, encouraging aggressive gameplay and team coordination. Hijack tasks players with controlling a Data Spike, passing it between teammates to score over time while defending it from enemy attacks. Then there’s Kill Block, the Westbridge Training Facility’s modular live-fire battleground, which continually reconfigures its routes, sightlines, weather, and combat spaces between rounds, creating over 100 possible combinations. Deploy in classic 3v3 Gunfight or take on the larger-scale Gunfight 10v10.

Ground War: Combat Outpost and Warzone Resurgence

For large-scale battles, Ground War: Combat Outpost brings 24v24 vehicle and infantry combat to expansive play spaces. Establish Outposts to earn resources, complete objectives, and contend with powerful airborne Killstreaks across two maps: Imjin Farmland and Wolves Stadium. And when Weekend Two begins on August 28th, Call of Duty: Warzone joins the party with Resurgence on Zodiac, an all-new map set around a DRC Advanced Systems drone assembly and manufacturing headquarters. Battle through offices, rooftops, tunnels, and the surrounding shoreline, keeping your squad in the fight as you eliminate enemies and complete Contracts to shorten redeployment timers.
