According to reliable sources, this translucent green console will be hitting shelves on Black Friday with a hefty €899.99 (approximately $899.99) price tag. That’s more than a standard Xbox Series X and puts it squarely in PS5 Pro territory.
The Green Machine: Specs and Price
The “Xbox Series X25 Limited Edition,” as Microsoft is calling it, boasts that eye-catching translucent green casing, allowing you to peek inside at the console’s internal components. It also comes bundled with a matching special edition controller, treated with the same aesthetic flair. While UK pricing remains unconfirmed, given the PS5 Pro’s £789.99 price point in the region, expect a similar cost for this limited-edition Xbox. This would make it significantly more expensive than the standard disc-drive Series X, currently priced at £669.99.
The high price reflects not only the unique design but also the current market conditions. As we’re all aware, the global component shortage continues to impact console manufacturing and pricing. This scarcity, driven by increased demand from AI data centers, has led to a significant increase in the cost of essential components.
Microsoft boss Asha Sharma has already cautioned that this component pricing crisis is far from over, predicting another doubling of costs by the fall of 2027.
