Get ready to unleash your inner titan slayer! Drakong, a brand under Hyperkin, has just announced the PixelByte controllers – a new line of collectible gaming peripherals themed after the epic anime and manga series, Attack on Titan. These adorable, keychain-sized controllers are designed for both functionality and collectibility, but with a twist: they’re being released in blind boxes.
Tiny Titans, Big Fun
Despite their diminutive size, reminiscent of classic NES controllers fused with charming chibi versions of your favorite Attack on Titan characters, the PixelByte controllers pack a punch. They are fully functional and compatible with PC, Nintendo Switch (both models), iOS devices, Android devices, and other Bluetooth-enabled gadgets. Expect around 12 hours of wireless gaming bliss on a single charge, and recharging is conveniently handled via USB-C.
The Blind Box Gamble
Here’s where things get interesting. Each PixelByte controller comes in a sealed blind box, meaning you won’t know which character and color scheme you’re getting until you open it. There are seven different variants available, featuring beloved characters like Eren, Mikasa, Levi, and Hange. And for the dedicated collectors out there, one variant is designated as a rare “chase” edition, appearing at a lower frequency than the others.

While I’m not entirely convinced that a blind box is the ideal way to acquire a gaming controller – it definitely won’t be making our list of the best controllers for PC or the best Switch controllers anytime soon – I can certainly appreciate the appeal from a collector’s perspective. Personally, I’m not a huge fan of blind boxes, but my extensive Pokémon card collection is proof that I understand the thrill of opening physical loot boxes in hopes of snagging something rare and valuable.
The Drakong PixelByte Attack on Titan controllers are available for pre-order now at the price of $24.99 per box. Good luck, fellow gamers – may your pulls be ever in your favor!
