Standing as an enormous social and commercial sensation across taverns, bowling alleys, and arcades throughout North America, Midway and Dave Nutting Associates released 4-Player Bowling Alley in 1979, equipping its imposing dedicated cabinet with a massive, heavy optical trackball that allowed up to four players to roll, hook, and curve bowling balls down a digital lane to knock down pins with authentic pinball physics and full 10-frame scoring.
