Capcom has announced that the franchise Devil May Cry achieved its highest-ever sales volume last year, surpassing all previous records in the series’ seven‑year history.

In a pre‑shareholder meeting release, the company refreshed its “Consumer Business Sales Volume” data, offering a comprehensive view of software sales trends over the years.

Last month, Capcom disclosed that it sold a record 59.07 million units during the fiscal year ending March 2026, with Devil May Cry 5 contributing 2.7 million copies to that total.

According to observations by GameSpark, the updated sales page now lists Devil May Cry 5 among its title‑specific figures, providing a clear snapshot of the series’ performance across the years.

Capcom’s latest sales chart confirms that Devil May Cry 5 sold an impressive 2.7 million copies in the most recent fiscal year, eclipsing every previous year in the franchise’s history—including its launch year.

The title initially shipped 2.1 million units in March 2019, a milestone it matched during the fiscal year ending March 2023. Yet this year’s tally of 2.7 million surpasses both, marking an unprecedented peak.

The surge is likely fueled by a combination of a price reduction and the growing popularity of the Devil May Cry animated series on Netflix, which has broadened the franchise’s appeal.

Capcom also revealed that the Devil May Cry 5: Devil Hunter Edition will debut on the Switch 2 on June 23, delivering 60 fps performance in both TV and handheld modes.

The latest sales chart reveals that five flagship Resident Evil titles—Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3, Resident Evil 4, Resident Evil 7, and Resident Evil Village—each experienced a notable uptick in units sold during the fiscal year ending March 2026 compared to the preceding year. However, none of these sequels managed to eclipse the sales figures recorded during their original launch windows.

Capcom also dropped a fresh lineup of releases: the long‑awaited Onimusha: Way of the Sword is slated for the upcoming Switch 2, and a port of Dragon’s Dogma 2 will arrive alongside its brand‑new Dark Arisen expansion. These announcements signal a strategic push to broaden the Switch 2’s library with high‑profile, action‑heavy titles.
