Nintendo Announces Tomorrow’s Direct: What to Expect

Nintendo has officially confirmed that its upcoming Nintendo Direct will air tomorrow.

Per a release on the Nintendo Today app, the showcase is scheduled to stream on Tuesday, June 9 at 7 a.m. PT / 10 a.m. ET / 3 p.m. BST.

The event will run for roughly 50 minutes and will spotlight titles slated for the Nintendo Switch 2 as well as the current Switch lineup this year.

Following the Direct, a Nintendo Treehouse live stream will extend the programming for an additional 95 minutes.

This marks Nintendo’s first major general Direct in nine months, following the September 2025 broadcast that celebrated the 40th anniversary of Super Mario Bros.

Since then, the company has delivered nine additional presentations, but they have been limited to Partner Showcases, Indie Worlds, Pokémon Presents, or single‑release spotlights such as Kirby: Air Riders, Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream, Star Fox, and the Super Mario Galaxy Movie.

In recent times, Nintendo has increasingly chosen to unveil new titles and updates through the Nintendo Today app rather than bundling them into a full Direct event.

While the full lineup for the upcoming Nintendo Direct remains shrouded in mystery, the company has officially confirmed a select few first‑party releases. Among them, Rhythm Heaven Groove will debut on the original Switch on July 2, marking a rare return to the classic hardware.

Looking ahead to the next generation, Nintendo has already earmarked several flagship titles for the Switch 2. Star Fox is slated for a June 25 launch, followed by Splatoon Raiders on July 23, and the long‑anticipated Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave is set to arrive later this year.

In March, a leak—later verified by VGC’s insiders—hinted that a new Star Fox title and a remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time were on the horizon for 2026.

That speculation was vindicated last month when Nintendo officially confirmed the Star Fox release, bolstering confidence that the Zelda remake is also in development and could very well appear during the Direct.

During the September 2025 Nintendo Direct, the company showcased roughly forty new titles, ranging from fresh entries in beloved franchises to intriguing hardware accessories. Highlights included the revamped Mario Tennis Fever, the Switch‑2‑Edition of Super Mario Bros Wonder, the whimsical Yoshi and the Mysterious Book, the newly titled Pokémon Pokopia, the strategic Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave, and a nostalgic Virtual Boy accessory.
