A fresh, cinematic teaser for Minecraft Dungeons 2 has officially confirmed the game’s launch window.
Unveiled during the Xbox Games Showcase, the follow‑up to the 2020 action spin‑off is slated for release on September 29, 2026, arriving simultaneously on Xbox consoles, PlayStation 5, PC, and both Nintendo Switch generations.
“This is an all‑new action‑RPG adventure where you’ll take on high‑stakes encounters, thrilling challenges, and explore never‑before‑seen locations in the Minecraft universe,” Microsoft announced in March, hinting at a richer, more immersive experience than its predecessor.
“Disorder is brewing, and the world stands before a threat unlike any other. A new danger is growing in power, ready to descend upon the land and unleash mayhem… Will you and your allies prevail against the forces of evil and save the day once more?” the studio added, setting the stage for a high‑stakes narrative that promises to captivate fans old and new alike.
VGC’s assessment of the original Minecraft Dungeons described it as “a spin‑off in need of building work,” noting that “Mojang’s Diablo‑style adventure is entertaining for the moment but eventually runs out of steam.”
We added that, while it may lack the expansive creativity of the mainline Minecraft or the witty charm of Story Mode, the game remains a solid, uncomplicated experience that doesn’t attempt to reinvent the genre.
Ultimately, it isn’t poised to become the next Diablo, yet it managed to hold our interest until completion—though, in all honesty, that victory wasn’t achieved after a prolonged journey.
