Microsoft marked its grand summer gaming event, the Xbox Games Showcase 2026, a more special occasion as it also served as a celebration of XBOX’s 25th anniversary. As usual, the broadcast was filled with new trailers, release dates, and a few surprises. Among them, we have announcements for games such as Senua, Persona 6, Spyro the Dragon: A Realm Beyond, and Crazy Taxi: World Tour. Among the release dates, we now know when Gears of War: E-Day, Fable, Halo: Campaign Evolved, and Clockwork Revolution will launch. We’ve also learned that some games, like the new Gears, will be exclusive to XBOX consoles; however, others, such as State of Decay 3, will be available on PS5.
Metro 2039 has reemerged with a new gameplay trailer, confirming its release in February 2027 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. This new installment will return to a more claustrophobic structure centered around the tunnels of Moscow’s metro, contrasting the more open approach of Metro Exodus. The story will pit survivors against factions vying for control, with the Novoreich potentially posing a significant threat. In the absence of Artyom, protagonism will fall upon a new character, The Stranger.
