In a recent announcement, PlayerUnknown Productions has disclosed plans to trim down its workforce and suspend development on their early access game, Prologue: Go Wayback.
Characterized by the studio as “a single-player open-world emergent survival roguelike where every adventure is distinct,” Prologue: Go Wayback made its debut on Steam and the Epic Games Store in November 2025, initially available as an early access title.

In a subsequent update, Brendan Greene, the studio’s founder and known as PlayerUnknown, revealed that the studio is facing financial constraints, compelling them to halt development on the game and initiate team downsizing.
“When PlayerUnknown Productions transitioned into an independent studio in 2021, we embarked on a mission to actualize a lofty vision for our future,” Greene’s statement on X reads.
