The Glade of Dreams faces an unprecedented threat, and today’s State of Play confirmed that Rayman Legends Retold—a daring 3D overhaul of the classic platformer—will debut on PlayStation 5 on October 1. The title promises fresh content and narrative twists as Rayman, Globox, Barbara, Grand Minimus, and Murphy confront a new, shadowy foe intent on corrupting the Glade, all while rescuing the beloved Teensies.
“Rayman Legends Retold is our way of revisiting what makes Rayman so special, and re‑telling that experience for a new generation of players,” explained Loïc Gounon, Brand Producer. “We wanted to preserve everything fans love, and Legends gave us the perfect foundation to expand Rayman’s lore, its world logic, and how everything connects together.”
The game transforms the series’ signature 2D aesthetic into vibrant 3D, bending the playground, tilting the camera, and animating cutscenes to deepen immersion.
Fans will also enjoy an expanded soundtrack from Christophe Héral and Grant Kirkhope, fully voiced cinematics, and, for the first time in the franchise’s history, complete character voice‑overs that add new layers to personalities.
Gameplay receives a significant overhaul with a mix of classic levels, a mysterious new realm, and four rhythm‑based musical stages that sync every move to the score. The Cave of Trials offers ongoing free challenges, pushing players to hone their skills to the limit.
Guillaume Cerda, Brand Director, announced that Rayman Legends Retold will harness the full power of the PlayStation 5, leveraging Ubisoft’s Snowdrop engine to deliver a richer, more expressive Rayman adventure than ever before.
Brand Art Director Guillame Arvieu explained that the game’s new 3D style bridges the visual grandeur and dramatic flair of Rayman 2 and Rayman 3 with the streamlined, side‑scrolling gameplay that made Rayman Legends a fan favorite.
