Yesterday, Activision unveiled that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 will debut on the Switch 2 concurrently with its release on all other major platforms.
According to the official press release, the Nintendo edition will support both cross‑play and cross‑progression, allowing players to join matches with friends on different systems and seamlessly transfer their progress across devices.
Gamers on the Switch 2 can also take advantage of optional Joy‑Con 2 mouse controls—a feature that has already appeared in other first‑person titles such as Metroid Prime 4: Beyond.
Modern Warfare 4 will launch across every platform, including the Switch 2, on 23 October 2026, following Microsoft’s 10‑year partnership with Nintendo that began in 2022 to bring the franchise to Nintendo hardware.
