Bulkhead and Team17 shared the first details on what players can expect from Wardogs Season 3 in a new video. One of the most notable additions is Limited Mode, a new way to play Wardogs that restricts what weapons and other upgrades players have access to.

What to expect from Wardogs Season 3

In its Road to Season 3 video, Bulkhead explains that it learned from the backlash towards Season 2 and will now mostly stick to its own vision for the game rather than overreacting to the loudest demands from the community. As part of the adjustments, progression is being brought back more in line with Season 1, and Wardogs‘ seasons will now last three months.

While a major meta-game progression overhaul is happening in 2027, Wardogs is introducing multi-track unlocks in the meantime, meaning that some items are no longer locked to a specific progression track. It’s also part of why Bulkhead is introducing Limited Mode servers, so players don’t feel outclassed simply because they haven’t gotten as far through the in-game progression as other players.

On Limited Mode servers, players will be restricted to certain weaponry and ammo types, only be able to use up to tier-2 armor, and not have access to certain vehicles. Cash and XP earned in Limited Mode can be spent in the standard game mode, so it’s probably what players new to the game will want to check out first in Season 3.

Improvements to Wardogs‘ anti-cheat systems are also coming as part of Season 3, with almost half of the Season 3 video being dedicated to highlighting that. Bulkhead has not released patch notes for the new season just yet. Those can be expected closer to launch.

Wardogs Season 3 will begin on Nov. 12. The game is still only available in early access on Windows PC. A 1.0 Windows PC launch is planned for 2027 before the game eventually comes to consoles in 2028.
