I’ve been running a heavily stripped Windows 10 LTSC build for competitive titles, but I’m hitting diminishing returns and want to validate my approach against what others are seeing. Right now I’m using RTPCleaner and ReviOS as a base, then manually disabling WinSxS telemetry, OneDrive, and Cortana services. My question is about interrupt affinity: are you manually pinning the timer interrupt (QPI/IMC) to a dedicated core, or letting the OS scheduler handle it? I read that forcing affinity on certain chipsets actually increases jitter under load, but I haven’t seen concrete benchmarks either way.

Secondly, on thread contention during frame delivery — when I profile with Pix and VTune, I’m seeing context-switch spikes around the game’s main loop colliding with background telemetry threads I thought I’d eliminated. Are people using process lollipop priorities or affinity masks to isolate the game thread from the OS? And does anyone have real-world numbers showing measurable ping/frame-time improvements from service stripping alone, versus the risk of breaking anti-cheat integrity checks? I’m especially curious about Discord overlay and Windows Game Bar interactions. Anybody running a fully unattended install with silent service removal without triggering Vanguard or EAC bans?

For ISO-level customization, skip the sketchy “debloated” downloads floating around Discord servers and build it yourself with DISM or DISM++ against a clean retail ISO — that’s the only way you actually know what’s in the final image. Mount the install.wim/install.esd, disable the SetupPlatform, SysMain, and DiagTrack services, and remove the appx packages you don’t need (Cortana, Store bloat, OneDrive) via Remove-AppxPackage on the offline image. But here’s what most guides get wrong: disabling SysMain isn’t a free latency win, it just moves your paging behavior — on an NVMe drive it’s largely a wash, and on lower-end setups you’ll actually lose frames in open-world titles. The real perfs are in your network stack, not in which telemetry service you killed.

On the service side, be surgical, not maximalist — stripping too much is how you break Windows Update, Defender, and driver installers, which causes far worse stutter than any background service could. Prioritize: set your power plan to Ultimate/High Performance, disable startup bloat via Task Manager, and if you’re
