Google has unveiled its list of top trending costumes ahead of Halloween, and Minecraft’s Verity has earned a spot among the year’s most-searched outfits.
The Frightgeist list, as it is called, reflects what people are searching for on Google. It is led by Buddy the Unicorn from director Casper Kelly’s horror film, with Nikki from Curry Barker’s viral horror hit Obsession also making the cut.
People searched for Verity the most in Los Angeles, California, Google said.
Verity ranks No. 7 overall. For those just catching up, Verity is a horror web series from ThatMob set inside Minecraft. The character is a smiling face that becomes increasingly unhinged — the full film can be watched below.

The list should not be confused with the new Anne Hathaway movie of the same name.
The top trending Halloween costumes overall include Buddy the Unicorn, NeeDoh, Nikki from Obsession, Agamemnon from The Odyssey, Lily Love Braids from Poppy Playtime, Oliver Tree, Verity from Minecraft, Carl from Dungeon Crawler Carl, Disco Scooby Doo, and Hazel Hook from Descendants.
Google also published separate lists for kids, pets, and duos. The kids’ costumes feature Dolly Parton, Ella Langley, Dumpling, Shakira, Oliver Tree, Ash Ketchum, Hannah Montana, Spider-Gwen, Michael Jackson’s Thriller era, and Pomni.
The pet costumes include a Centipede, Dolly Parton, Bullseye, Diet Coke, Princess Donut, Lamb Chop, Pua, Baked Potato, Roach, and Tow Mater. Duo costumes feature Disco Scooby and Shaggy, Cyclops and Jean Grey, Nikki and Bear, JLo and Maverick, Hannah and Garrett, Cowboys and Angels, Ricky Bobby and Carley Bobby, Wall-E and Eve, Woody and Bullseye, and Joe Dirt and Brandy.
