Bethesda has released a new update for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered on Switch 2, addressing visual problems introduced by its previous patch. On October 13, the studio confirmed it had resolved a “global visual degradation issue discovered in the previous update,” according to a report Kotaku.
The earlier fix arrived in late September and was expected to contain only minor bug corrections. Instead, players began documenting numerous visual issues after installing it, including ghosting effects and everything appearing blurrier than before. The situation became severe enough that some players deliberately avoided updating their copies to prevent the downgrade.

According to players who have downloaded the new update, Oblivion on Switch 2 now looks significantly better and more closely resembles its pre-September state. Some are even suggesting it may be running slightly better than ever before. The patch is reportedly larger than many expected, raising questions about what Bethesda’s September changes actually did to cause the visual problems.

Bethesda has confirmed that the latest update resolves the issue, making it safe for players to download now.
