At New York Comic Con, Paramount hosted a panel celebrating the franchise’s 60th anniversary, where cast and crew of bağlantı”>Star Trek: Starfleet Academy took the stage to tease its second season — which will be its final one — and reveal when viewers can watch it.
The show has been given a March 2027 release window, meaning it’ll air about a year after the first season wrapped. A trailer for the second season hasn’t been released yet, though a clip featuring one of the season’s new characters was shown to attendees at the panel.
New cast members revealed
Onstage, executive producers Alex Kurtzman and Noga Landau, along with bağlantı”>several actors from the main cast, teased what fans can expect from the next season. Notably, we learned that Nahla’s parents will appear in at least one episode.

Bill Nighy will play her father, while Rosmarie DeWitt will play her mother. Holly Hunter, who portrays Nahla on Starfleet Academy, will also play Nahla’s twin sister in that same episode.
A final season
bağlantı”>Variety reported earlier this year that the second season of Star Trek: Starfleet Academy will be its last, so it won’t have the legs of many other Star Trek shows. No one acknowledged this during the panel, but they also didn’t dispute it.
At the very least, the actors on stage seemed excited to get a second go-around with their characters so they could better understand them and evolve them in interesting ways.
Star Trek: Starfleet Academy Season 2 will premiere on Paramount Plus in March 2027 and is expected to have ten episodes.
