Paramount has renewed Avatar: Seven Havens, the post-apocalyptic follow-up to The Legend of Korra, through Book 4 after its Oct. 9 premiere drew critical acclaim.
Seven Havens is more mystery-driven than previous entries in the franchise, slowly revealing the secrets of Avatar Pavi’s past, the nature of the Seven Havens, and what caused the cataclysm that ravaged the world. The first three episodes released Oct. 9, with additional episodes from Book 1: Survival arriving Fridays through Oct. 30.
The series was already greenlit for two 13-episode seasons. Creators Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko took the stage at New York Comic Con today to reveal the renewal and discuss the future of the franchise.

Fans seeking answers and behind-the-scenes details can tune in to the official companion podcast Avatar: Braving the Elements, hosted by Janet Varney, the original voice of Korra, and Dante Basco, who played Prince Zuko on Avatar: The Last Airbender. New episodes featuring interviews with the series creators and cast will be released each week.
New Series Announced
Konietzko revealed he’ll serve as showrunner for Avatar Kuruk: Wave of Chaos, a new animated series produced by Avatar Studios and Nickelodeon Animation Studios. Set centuries before Aang’s birth, the series follows the rebellious teenage Avatar from the Northern Water Tribe as he bucks tradition to master the elements while traveling the world.
Accompanied by his pet, Nikik, Kuruk is pursued by his own angry teachers while dealing with both spirits and pirates. Kuruk first appeared in season 2 of Avatar: The Last Airbender, though he was referenced in season 1 by the malevolent spirit Koh, who stole the face of Kuruk’s fiancée.
The series will presumably provide more details on that conflict as well as some of the globe-trotting adventures that made Avatar: The Last Airbender so much fun.
