Microsoft has unveiled its full slate of additions to Xbox Game Pass for October 2026, headlined by EA’s blockbuster Battlefield 6 and seven brand-new titles launching the same day they hit retail. The monthly rotation, which rolls out across multiple tiers from October 8 through October 16, also marks the departure of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, one of last year’s most celebrated role-playing games, alongside a handful of other fan favorites.

The announcement confirms that subscribers will have a busy month ahead, with new arrivals trickling in on staggered dates rather than arriving all at once. Battlefield 6, the large-scale shooter that shattered series sales records upon its launch earlier this year, is set to join the service on October 13 across Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, and cloud platforms.

A Headliner Worth Waiting For

The undisputed marquee addition of October is EA’s Battlefield 6, which broke records when it dropped by selling more than seven million copies in its first three days and instantly topped Steam’s best-seller charts. Despite facing layoffs at Battlefield Studios back in March, the game has maintained strong momentum thanks to a steady stream of post-launch updates and what Microsoft described as a surprisingly involved Top Gun collaboration.

Battlefield 6 joins Game Pass on October 13, giving subscribers access to the massive shooter well after its initial retail release. The title’s inclusion represents one of the more notable additions to the service this month, bringing a game that defined much of the conversation around first-person shooters earlier in the year.

Seven New Games Launch Day-One

Beyond Battlefield 6, October sees seven all-new games enter Game Pass on the very day of their full launches. The batch spans a wide range of genres and sizes, from the time-loop metroidvania Echo Weaver and road-trip adventure Forever Ago to the co-op survive-em-up Deep Dish Dungeon and first-person soulslike Valor Mortis.

The lineup also includes Bluey’s Happy Snaps, a lighthearted photography romp aimed at younger audiences; Chained Beasts, a co-op roguelike; and Beyond These Stars, an unconventional city-builder set aboard a space whale. Echo Weaver, Forever Ago, and Neon Abyss 2 arrive first on October 8, while Battlefield 6, Deep Dish Dungeon, and Valor Mortis follow on October 13.

I have one eyebrow tentatively raised for Deep Dish Dungeon’s moody, old-school world, if I can fend off the hordes in Gears of War: E-Day for long enough. Are you guys interested in any of the newcomers?

A Notable Wave of Departures

If October brings plenty of new content, it also takes its share away. The most significant loss is Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, the widely acclaimed RPG that debuted on Game Pass early last year and earned a devoted following for its storytelling and combat.

The game joins several other titles departing on October 15, including A Plague Tale: Requiem, Crime Scene Cleaner, Evil West, The Casting of Frank Stone, Pacific Drive, Donut County, Superball, and Nova Roma in its Game Preview state. For subscribers who never got around to exploring these personal favorites, the clock is now ticking.

The staggered schedule means that newcomers arriving throughout October will find fresh titles to dig into even as some familiar names exit the service. Echo Weaver, Forever Ago, and Neon Abyss 2 are available from October 8; Battlefield 6, Deep Dish Dungeon, and Valor Mortis arrive on October 13; Bluey’s Happy Snaps and Chained Beasts follow on October 15; and Beyond These Stars rounds out the additions on October 16.

Looking Ahead

With Battlefield 6 now confirmed for a mid-October arrival, Microsoft has signaled that its fall lineup will continue to lean on major third-party blockbusters alongside a steady diet of indie and genre-diverse titles. Subscribers can expect the October catalog to remain in flux as games continue their staggered arrivals through the end of the month.

For those hoping to play Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 before it leaves, time is running short—the title departs on October 15, giving players just over a week to experience its acclaimed campaign. As always, Xbox will continue updating its catalog with new additions and departures throughout the month, so subscribers are encouraged to keep an eye out for further announcements as October progresses.
