Take-Two Interactive chairman and CEO Strauss Zelnick reaffirmed the growing importance of the PC platform during the company’s annual shareholders meeting held yesterday, even as he declined to commit to any timeline for Grand Theft Auto 6 reaching personal computers. While acknowledging that PC gamers remain central to the publisher’s strategy, Zelnick made clear that GTA 6 will launch as a console exclusive in November, leaving fans of the platform waiting indefinitely for confirmation of a future release.
The exchange unfolded during Take-Two’s annual shareholders meeting, where attendees pressed Zelnick on how the rising influence of cloud gaming and streaming services might shape the company’s plans for bringing its most anticipated title to PC. Rather than offering reassurance about when PC players can expect to play, Zelnick reframed the conversation around broader platform strategy, insisting that his studio intends to reach audiences wherever they gather over time.
A Strategy Built on Timing
When asked directly about the potential impact of streaming services on GTA 6’s PC release, Zelnick first clarified that the underlying question concerned “the cadence of PC launches.” He then laid out Take-Two’s general philosophy without committing to specifics.
The strategy of the company is over time, generally speaking, to launch for any platforms for which there’s a meaningful audience. But that isn’t always the case, and certainly if platforms were no longer viable, we would change that strategy. And I would note that the PC platform is becoming more and more important to our company over time.

In practice, this meant little more than confirmation that GTA 6 remains a console exclusive for now. The studio’s focus is squarely on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S releases, with PC support deferred to an unspecified future date.
A Pattern of Contradictions
Zelnick’s remarks did little to resolve the confusion that has surrounded Take-Two’s positioning of its flagship franchise. The comments echo statements made in May, when the CEO suggested that PC could account for up to half the total sales of major game releases—yet insisted GTA 6 would debut on consoles because the studio is “focused on” a target audience that apparently excludes PC gamers.
Saying the PC platform is “becoming more and more important” while simultaneously holding back its biggest IP from those very players has struck observers as inherently contradictory. Many wonder whether Zelnick simply avoids stating the obvious reason for delaying GTA 6’s PC release, a transparency that might at least allow fans to accept the situation with greater patience.
GTA Online Will Carry On
Beyond the long-awaited singleplayer campaign, Zelnick also addressed concerns about the future of GTA Online during the meeting. He reminded attendees that GTA 6 itself will be “a singleplayer experience,” while noting that GTA Online “continues to be a robust business for us” and will receive continued support from Take-Two.
The studio’s multiplayer offering for GTA 6 is slated to arrive next year, though it remained unclear whether Zelnick was relaying confirmed information or speculating about the timeline. Regardless, players can expect Online to remain operational in the interim as they await news of a PC port.

Looking Ahead
Grand Theft Auto 6 is set to launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on November 19, with no official date announced for a later PC release. Fans continue to hope that Take-Two will eventually bring the game to personal computers, but until then, the platform remains firmly console-exclusive.
For those eager to prepare ahead of launch, numerous guides and resources are available covering everything from vehicles and characters to the confirmed Vice City map locations. Whether PC players will ever get their chance to explore Vice City on their preferred platform remains one of gaming’s most persistent open questions.
