The announcement ensures that Alan Ritchson’s iconic nomadic ex-military cop will continue to dominate the small screen for years to come.
According to Variety, Season 4—which reached Prime Video earlier this month—drew an impressive 66 million viewers within its first 28 days of launch, enough to place it among the top five most-viewed seasons of any original series on the service. Across all four seasons to date, Reacher has now reached 200 million viewers globally, a staggering figure that underscores the show’s international appeal and explains Amazon’s eagerness to extend the contract.
A Production Already in Motion
Ritchson, whose star power has surged in tandem with the show’s growing popularity, is currently filming Season 5 in Toronto. The series is an adaptation of Lee Child’s Jack Reacher book series, with each season loosely based on a particular novel from the long-running franchise.
