Players of Control Resonant have uncovered a cleverly disguised binary puzzle hidden inside a laundromat in the game’s Central zone, and a complete solution has now been published to help them unlock a secret hideout. The Wear’Em & Wash’Em laundromat, tucked away in the southern corner of the Central zone, presents a grid of ones and zeroes that mirrors the physical arrangement of its washing machines. By identifying which machines correspond to the 1’s on the puzzle and toggling them on while switching every other machine off, players can slide open a hidden wall that descends into a reward room containing a health upgrade point and additional lore collectibles. The secret joins a growing roster of hidden locations that players have been mapping out across the game’s world.
A Binary Puzzle Disguised as a Laundromat
This is another of Control Resonant’s secret hideouts, alongside locations such as the Evacuation Zone art gallery and the West Incursion Zone Urban Fresh Mart. Like those other discoveries, the laundromat rewards the kind of patient exploration that has defined the game’s most memorable moments, turning an ordinary service establishment into a gateway to something unexpected.

That philosophy is evident in the way the puzzle is constructed. The customer’s note is, in fact, correct: most of the machines are genuinely out of order, which means the player’s only real task is to read the binary grid and translate it into physical action. When facing the cork board, players should turn to their left, because the uninterrupted row of seven machines along the back wall corresponds to the top row of the puzzle. The fourth machine in that row is the one to switch on.
Turning around reveals a row of six machines facing the player, which maps to the next row down. Here, machines three and four need to be activated. The machines back-to-back with that second row form the third row, which requires the first and sixth machines to be turned on. The final three rows of the puzzle are all zeros, meaning they stay off — and that leaves the last row, the set of six machines against the back wall toward the front of the store, as the only remaining machines to power up. Switch on just the first machine in that final row.
Looking Ahead
As long as every other washing machine in the laundromat remains switched off, a wall at the back of the shop should slide open, revealing a set of stairs that descend into a hidden room. Down there, players will find a health upgrade point alongside a batch of lore collectibles, completing the reward loop that makes the puzzle worthwhile.
