Where to Find Power Upgrade Points in Control Resonant: A Full Guide to Boosting Your Maximum Power

September 24, 2026 · Gamer24H Editorial Team

Players of Remedy Entertainment’s Control Resonant are discovering a new way to strengthen their Resonators: power upgrade points, collectible items that permanently raise the maximum amount of power available for casting combat abilities. Released as part of the game’s ongoing progression systems, these special items are scattered across the game’s interconnected map in large resource crates and earned through arcade machines, letting players expand their ability usage as they explore the zones of Downtown, Central, the West Incursion Zone, the Evacuation Zone, The Park, and the Underpass.

According to Polygon’s coverage, the upgrade points don’t increase raw damage output. Instead, they raise the ceiling on the white power bar that fills as you use abilities, meaning players can chain more Resonance powers before needing to recharge. The items are most commonly found inside large resource crates made of concrete blocks, though some are locked behind puzzles in testing research facilities and require players to level up their zones to unlock access. Arcade machines offer an alternative route, rewarding the second-highest score on a challenge with a power upgrade point.

How Power Upgrade Points Work

Collecting three power upgrade points increases your maximum power capacity, which is the resource consumed when you deploy combat abilities. The distinction matters for players: the upgrade broadens how many abilities you can use in a single run rather than making each ability hit harder. Because several crates are hidden in hard-to-reach or puzzle-locked areas, exploration and progression become essential to fully unlocking the upgrade path.

“Power upgrade points are designed to reward players who explore the world thoroughly, offering a meaningful way to grow your abilities as you uncover the deeper layers of the Resonance.”

For players short on time, the game’s Assist Mode menu can help achieve the high scores needed at arcade machines, though these challenges can be demanding early in the run. Notably, some resource crates are locked in testing research facilities, requiring players to solve puzzles and complete challenges before the crate can be opened.

Locations Across the Map

Polygon has mapped out the upgrade points by zone. In Downtown, four points have been located, two of which require the Reach traversal ability unlocked in the Evacuation Zone. The Resonant Ruins crate sits near the center of the arena where players faced the Artist resonant in the prologue, while the southeast construction site hides its point behind enemies on the bottom floor. The Testing Facility Reade entrance requires Reach at Lookout Point, followed by a puzzle involving soda dispensers and yellow squares. An arcade machine in the laundromat needs Downtown at zone level 8, and the final point is tied to an arcade challenge.

Central contains five points, all of which require progressing through the “Contain the Crisis” storyline and raising the zone to level four. The Underground Supply Route, R&C Storage, and Patterned Factory second floor each demand charged power blocks, while the FBC Testing Facility features a puzzle requiring players to keep power cores alive for 60 seconds. The Park offers two points, including a security checkpoint elevator in the southwest and an arcade machine requiring the moldy door to be burned away.

The West Incursion Zone has four points, three of which need the Shift traversal ability unlocked in the Parking Garage fault. The House of Mirrors, Test Facility Broadway, and West Supply Route Station each present their own challenges, while the Atlantis Cafe arcade machine requires the zone to reach level 3. The Evacuation Zone’s four points include the Testing Facility Pearl and two that unlock only after progressing into the “Recursions and Iterations” main story quest, and the Underpass has one point waiting across the chasm after riding the cable car.

Looking Ahead

Remedy’s guide notes that this coverage is a work in progress, with additional power upgrade point locations to be added as they’re discovered. Players who want to maximize their power capacity should prioritize leveling their zones to unlock crate locations and revisit the main story quests that gate the final upgrades. As the community continues to map the world, expect more of these hidden points to surface, giving Resonators even more ways to tailor their loadout.
