Silent Hill: Townfall Players Unravel Cryptic Scales Puzzle to Progress Through “Searching for Zoe” Mission

September 24, 2026 · Gamer24H Editorial Team

Players of Bloober Team’s mobile survival horror title Silent Hill: Townfall have been handed a definitive solution to one of the game’s most convoluted brain-teasers: the scales puzzle that forms the backbone of the “Searching for Zoe” mission. The challenge, which has stumped many since the game’s release, demands that players first decode a cryptic CRTV broadcast, unlock a pharmacy locker through a four-digit code, and locate a seemingly unreachable residence before finally arranging three collected items in the correct sequence. The walkthrough, now circulating among the community, breaks down each stage of the puzzle in detail, offering a clear path to the mission’s next chapter, “Zoe: Rounds.”

The puzzle occupies the majority of the “Searching for Zoe” mission. After departing Zoe’s house and sneaking past the monsters prowling the Town Square, players arrive at the scales at the end of a hallway inside the Shorefront Family Clinic. To complete the task, three items must be placed on the scales in a specific order. One of the required objects, Zoe’s lanyard, was concealed inside a human organ box at Zoe’s house, while the second and third items are scattered across the pharmacy and Jess’ house respectively. Crucially, players must first pick up a scalpel from Zoe’s desk, hidden inside a green medical box in the same room as the scales, as this tool becomes essential for unlocking the pharmacy and Jess’ residence.

Cracking the Pharmacy Locker Code

To reach the pharmacy, players head to the Town Square and make a U-turn to the left, arriving at building number 7 on the map. The front door is locked, but the scalpel opens it. At the rear of the building lies a locker secured by a four-digit code. Decoding it begins with the game’s signature CRTV mechanic: players tune the radio on the desk, scan the signal with the CRTV, and complete a mini-game by moving the device back and forth until two circles on the screen nearly overlap. Once the signal is captured, players select each color individually and slide the colorful shapes into rectangular boxes. When the circles fully merge and every shape fits neatly into its box, the CRTV puzzle is complete.

Tuning the radio unlocks a short video on the CRTV, accompanied by brief glimpses of four wall posters, each displaying a number. These numbers form the locker code when applied in the order shown in the broadcast. The pharmacy’s interior offers the clues: the “wash your hands” poster in the bathroom depicts six fingers, representing the number 6; a “5 steps” prescription drugs poster near the desk yields the number 5; a blood pressure gauge near the entrance points to 3; and an antibiotics poster shows a pack of 10 pills with one fallen out, translating to 9. Combined, the sequence unlocks the locker, where players retrieve a medicine prescription bag bearing an error note attached to it.

Once you’ve decoded the CRTV broadcast and gathered the prescription bag, the path to Jess’ house opens up, and the final item awaits on her bed.

Community Guide

After securing the lanyard and the prescription bag, players must reach Jess’ house for the third item. Entry requires passing through St. Amelia Park, where the scalpel now unlocks the south gate. The only exit is a narrow lane in the northwest, and players are advised to save their progress at the telephone booth in Farrow Street before venturing into the monster-infested streets. Both doors of Jess’ house are locked, but a note on the back door reveals that she left the key with Walter at apartment number 16, the building opposite her home. Inside, players climb upstairs to apartment 1/2 and find the key on a table near the window. Once inside, the broken stethoscope resting on the bed is the final required item.

Arranging the Items in Order

With all three objects in hand, the final hurdle is determining the correct sequence. The answer lies in the underlined phrases printed on the paper beside the scales. The clue “I didn’t listen closely enough” points to hearing, referring to the broken stethoscope. The phrase “I made mistakes and couldn’t focus on the task at hand” references an error, pointing to the prescription dosage error note. Finally, “I’m not fit to work in this role any longer” alludes to the clinic job displayed on Zoe’s lanyard.

Players place the items from left to right, matching the order of the note: the broken stethoscope on the left scale, the prescription dosage error note on the middle scale, and Zoe’s lanyard on the right scale. Completing the arrangement triggers a cutscene and launches the next mission, “Zoe: Rounds,” allowing players to press onward through the game’s gripping narrative.

Looking Ahead

While this walkthrough resolves the immediate puzzle, Silent Hill: Townfall continues to reward players with layered storytelling and atmospheric tension. The game’s CRTV mini-games and cryptic environmental clues remain a hallmark of the experience, encouraging exploration and attention to detail throughout the Town Square, Shorefront Family Clinic, and surrounding districts. As players progress through the “Searching for Zoe” arc, they will encounter more monsters and moral dilemmas that define the series’ signature dread. Fans are encouraged to revisit the pharmacy and Jess’ house if they missed any of the earlier clues, ensuring they are fully prepared for the challenges that lie ahead in the mobile horror adventure.
