NVIDIA has officially announced the retirement of its long‑standing Control Panel for all users of GeForce Game Ready and Studio drivers, marking the end of a 20‑year legacy.
The decision follows the complete migration of all actively supported features to the modern NVIDIA App, effectively phasing out the legacy interface.
This structural shift concludes a migration journey that began when NVIDIA replaced standalone utilities like GeForce Experience with a unified software client. Although the old Control Panel will vanish from systems after a clean driver install, it has entered a maintenance phase and will no longer receive new features or updates via the Microsoft Store.
Introduced in the mid‑2000s, the Control Panel had guided GeForce users for two decades before NVIDIA began its definitive replacement with a unified platform in 2024. The most significant milestone in this transition was the massive August 2025 update, which moved 3D settings, Surround support, and multi‑monitor controls to the new client.
