If you were captivated by Inde Navarrette’s chilling performance in Curry Barker’s breakout horror film, Obsession, you’re probably eager to know what she’s up to next. The movie, a surprise hit that twisted the simple premise of a wish gone wrong into a terrifying possession thriller, launched Navarrette into the spotlight. Since then, whispers have circulated about her involvement in major projects, from Marvel’s upcoming X-Men film to the highly anticipated Heat 2.
Navarrette Stars in “The Waffle House Index”
Now, we can confirm one of her next big roles: Navarrette is set to star in The Waffle House Index, a new sci-fi thriller from Apple Original Films, with Plan B Entertainment producing. She’s also stepping into an executive producer role on the film, bağlantı”>according to The Hollywood Reporter.
But what exactly is The Waffle House Index about?
A Recipe for Disaster: Killer Crocodiles, Nuclear Explosions, and Aliens
Despite its seemingly ordinary title, The Waffle House Index promises anything but a typical night out. For those unfamiliar, the “Waffle House Index” is a real-world metric used to gauge the severity of hurricane damage based on the operational status of local Waffle House restaurants.
However, this film takes that concept and cranks it up to eleven. Navarrette will portray a Waffle House waitress whose already challenging evening spirals into chaos when an armed stranger walks in. From there, things escalate into a wild ride involving a massive flood, killer crocodiles, a nuclear explosion, a mysterious bunker hidden beneath the Waffle House, and, yes, aliens.
This project marks another bold move for Navarrette following her breakthrough performance in Obsession. She also has Invertigo, a thriller about teenagers trapped on a roller coaster, already filmed. Her reported involvement with Marvel’s X-Men further solidifies her position as one of the most sought-after actresses in Hollywood.
The Waffle House Index represents the latest collaboration between Plan B and Apple. The production company, led by Brad Pitt, Dede Gardner, and Jeremy Kleiner, previously teamed up with Apple on Pitt’s racing drama F1. Plan B also recently produced the horror film bağlantı”>Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma and is preparing to shoot The Bell Jar, a drama directed by Sarah Polley.
For an actress coming off one of the year’s biggest horror hits, The Waffle House Index is certainly an unexpected choice. But with killer crocodiles, nuclear explosions, and aliens on the menu, it sounds like Inde Navarrette has found another deliciously strange project to sink her teeth into.
