IKEA has unveiled a range of official Xbox furniture, including gaming chairs, display stands, and even cozy-looking D-pad cushions. The “YXSTABY” collection (good luck pronouncing that!) is set to hit the U.K. market starting in October, both online and in IKEA stores.
In a press release, IKEA emphasized that this collaboration reflects a shift towards integrating gaming furniture into mainstream living spaces, moving beyond traditional “teen bedrooms and man caves.”

Created in collaboration between Xbox and IKEA designers, the nine-piece collection includes practical items like controller display boxes, TV stands on castors for easy cable management, and a side table perfect for storing all your gaming accessories.
Beyond the Basics: Quirky & Cool
But it’s not just about practicality; there are also some truly unique additions. The “gaming Thumbstick stools,” for example, are green and black creations that literally resemble giant Xbox controller thumbsticks. IKEA even used the original 3D design files from the controllers to ensure maximum authenticity. They’re designed to tilt with you as you lean, mimicking the motion of a thumbstick and keeping you “comfortably engaged during intense sessions.”
Personally, I’m drawn to the green gaming D-pad cushion, but the D-pad platter is also pretty cool, especially for fans of the concave metal D-pads found on Xbox Elite controllers.
The Vision: Immersive Gaming at Home
“At Xbox, we think a lot about what helps players feel immersed in a game,” said Carl Ledbetter, Xbox Head of Design. “The hardware is an important part of that, but so is the world you create around it. Working with IKEA gave us the opportunity to design for the entire gaming experience at home, from the screen to the space around it.”
