Valve has officially announced that its highly anticipated hardware lineup—including the Steam Machine and the SteamVR headset, Steam Frame—will hit shelves during the summer of 2026. This marks the first concrete release window for the devices, which had previously been shrouded in vague timelines and had been delayed by the global supply‑chain crisis and the resulting surge in component costs, a trend that has also pushed up the price of the Steam Deck.
“Today we’re expanding the Verified program to include Steam Machine and Steam Frame, which will go on sale this summer,” Valve said. “Just like the Deck Verified program, the goal is to help customers understand how a particular title will perform on the new devices without any setup required.”
The U.S. company has also announced the integration of both devices into its Machine Verified certification framework, ensuring that consumers can immediately identify which games will run smoothly on the new hardware without needing to tweak settings.
On the technical front, Valve guarantees that any game currently running well on the portable Steam Deck will deliver optimal performance on the new Steam Machine by default. The company is already conducting automated, exhaustive testing on titles that fell short on the Deck due to CPU or GPU limitations, confident that the desktop system’s superior specs will handle them effortlessly.
