After a long wait, Bandai Namco and FromSoftware have finally announced the exact release date for Elden Ring Tarnished Edition, the latest role-playing and action game set in an open world for Nintendo Switch 2. The game was announced over a year ago during the official presentation event of the new console from the Japanese company, but until now, no specific release date had been confirmed.
In an official press release, the developers of Elden Ring have confirmed that the Nintendo Switch 2 version will be released this summer: specifically, it arrives on August 28 on the console. However, at present, it is still unknown what price it will have in Spain, both physically and digitally. It was rumored that a pricing window of $79.99 for the physical key card format would apply.
It is also worth noting that the additional content included in #ELDENRING Tarnished Edition will also be available for purchase on other platforms. The Tarnished Pack DLC will launch on August 28, 2026.
At the close of last year, Bandai Namco and FromSoftware publicly acknowledged performance issues with Elden Ring on the Nintendo Switch 2, following criticism of the demo showcased at Gamescom 2025. Consequently, they postponed the console’s launch to an unspecified point in 2026, a decision they later clarified as a move to allow ample time for performance tweaks. The new release window has now been fixed for August 28, 2026.
Vandal offers a comprehensive Elden Ring guide and a detailed review, concluding that “Hidetaka Miyazaki once again crafts one of the greatest games ever, elevating open‑world RPG and action adventures to unprecedented heights.”
