In a recent development, Microsoft unveiled the Surface Laptop Ultra, their latest high-end laptop equipped with NVIDIA’s groundbreaking RTX Spark processor. As is customary for new devices from Microsoft, the Surface Laptop Ultra comes with an exclusive wallpaper. Although the device isn’t yet available to the public, its wallpaper has already been extracted, offering everyone a sneak peek of the upcoming laptop in high-resolution quality.
The Surface Laptop Ultra sports a very dark, abstract wallpaper reminiscent of the stock wallpapers in Windows Server, albeit with less vibrant colors. This somber wallpaper accentuates the laptop’s mini-LED display and its capability to dim specific screen areas to achieve OLED-like black levels. For those who prefer lighter backgrounds, a white version has been created by simply inverting the original colors. Expected to launch later this year, the Surface Laptop Ultra promises up to 1 petaflop of AI performance and GPU performance on par with the RTX 5070. The laptop’s core is packed with up to 20 CPU cores and 6,144 GPU cores. Microsoft and NVIDIA also emphasize high CPU efficiency for extended battery life. The display is a 15-inch mini-LED panel boasting a pixel density of 262 ppi and a maximum brightness of 2,000 nits.
For those who require a more affordable device, Microsoft is also preparing the next-generation Surface Pro. Although details about this computer have been leaked ahead of its official announcement, it will be equipped with the Snapdragon X2 Elite processor.
