Introducing Microsoft’s Surface RTX Spark Dev Box – Revolutionary Desktop Workstation for AI Innovators

Over the weekend, NVIDIA unveiled the NVIDIA RTX Spark, a groundbreaking superchip set to power several Windows PCs later this year. The RTX Spark boasts a 20-core NVIDIA Grace CPU and an NVIDIA Blackwell RTX GPU with 6,144 CUDA cores and fifth-generation Tensor Cores with FP4 precision, all connected via the NVIDIA NVLink-C2C chip-to-chip interconnect for optimal performance.

This design element is a tribute to the device’s impressive 1,000 teraflops of compute performance, as mentioned by Microsoft. Furthermore, the 100W thermal envelope within the aluminum chassis serves not only as a cooling system but also adds to the overall performance.

In terms of connectivity, the Surface RTX Spark Dev Box offers two USB-C ports, a USB-A port, HDMI, Ethernet, and a headphone jack.

Microsoft’s forthcoming Surface RTX Spark Dev Box arrives pre‑loaded with Windows Subsystem for Linux 2 (WSL 2), seamless native GPU passthrough, and comprehensive CUDA support, giving developers a ready‑to‑use environment for high‑performance computing.
