JetBrains Unveils IntelliJ IDEA Update Fixing Markdown Preview

JetBrains has rolled out IntelliJ 2026.1.3, a patch that tackles a host of long‑standing bugs affecting the user interface and terminal experience.

On Windows, users of Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL) can now launch environments with wsl.exe without sacrificing terminal functionality. Previously, starting a shell with a command such as wsl.exe -d ubuntu inside a Windows‑based project would break shell integration and prevent the IDE from detecting active processes.

IntelliJ 2026.1.3 is the third bug‑fix release in the 2026.1 series, following earlier updates that addressed a WSL Python interpreter freeze, Emmet abbreviation issues for guest participants, and WildFly server deployment errors.
