Maverick Games, a fresh studio assembled by ex‑Forza Horizon talent, has unveiled its inaugural title, Clutch.
Dubbed a “cinematic open‑world action‑driving game,” Clutch will blend classic circuit racing with adrenaline‑filled, underground chase sequences where speed, flair, and high‑risk escapes collide.
The game is slated for a PS5 launch in Spring 2027, with the full reveal scheduled for later this week at the Summer Game Fest.
UK‑based Maverick Games is headed by Mike Brown, a veteran who contributed as a game designer and creative lead on the last four Forza Horizon entries, and also helped develop Motorstorm Apocalypse and DriveClub.
Several key talent from the Forza Horizon franchise have joined Clutch, bringing a wealth of experience to the studio. Among them are Tom Butcher, who will serve as producer; Matt Craven, taking on the role of technical director; Gareth Harwood, the technical art director; Fraser Stachan, the audio director; and Ben Penrose, the art director.
At this year’s Summer Game Fest, the studio will unveil further details about the game’s narrative, cast, and expansive world. An initial trailer was released at the conclusion of a lengthy livestream earlier today, but it has yet to be posted as a standalone video. We’ll keep you posted as more information becomes available.
