AMD Launches Radeon RX 9070 GRE Worldwide at $550, Same as 16GB

Just days earlier, reports surfaced that custom builds from brands like Sapphire and XFX were appearing on online marketplaces, sparking speculation that the card might retail for around $500. The official announcement, however, set the price slightly higher, confirming that AMD’s strategy involves breaking the product’s previous trade restrictions and making it widely accessible.

The latest addition to AMD’s graphics card lineup, the Radeon RX 9070 GRE, has been unveiled, boasting a 4nm Navi 48 GPU with 48 compute units and 3,072 stream processors. According to TechSpot, this configuration allows for a maximum clock speed of 2.79 GHz and a power consumption of 220 watts. However, the most talked-about aspect among experts is its 12 GB VRAM with a 192-bit bus, which pales in comparison to the 16 GB offered by other cards within the same family.

AMD aims to directly compete with NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 5060 Ti 16 GB, priced at $570, against which AMD claims a performance advantage of 22% and a power-to-price improvement of 26%. This, according to TechSpot, allows AMD to confidently assure that the new product is capable of running demanding games in 1440p resolution, while competitors typically recommend their cards for standard 1080p gaming.

Interested gamers can immediately purchase this component as it is available today from well-known hardware manufacturers such as Sapphire, PowerColor, XFX, ASRock, GIGABYTE, Acer, and ASUS.
